As Commissioner Mary was Endorsed by: Solon Sun News…”we give the slight edge to Mary Samide because of her experience as a commissioner… In an age where residents are looking to their government more so than ever to be fiscally prudent, Samide has done just that.”

Endorsed by: The Cleveland Plain Dealer…”Samide’s extensive political experience, including eight years as a commissioner, give her the edge…”

Mary Samide was the Geauga County Commissioner from 2003-2014. Mary is now running for Munson Township Trustee where she served from 1995-2003.  It is important now to support the elected official who has continued to keep Geauga County and Munson Township on stable track financially during her tenure as an elected official. This is leadership that has provided solutions consistently.

Mary is the logical and best candidate for Munson Trustee based on her ability to work with budgets, deadlines, technology, and personnel. During Mary’s tenure as Geauga County Commissioner, the county has almost eliminated the debt on the jail, has achieved an AA+1 rating with Moodys, has received the highest awards with distinction from the State Auditor for 2010 and highest awards for 11 years as Commissioner. Geauga County was one of the best run counties in the State of Ohio. Combine these talents with over 20 years as successful business owner and CEO along with the proven leadership and teamwork of 11 years as Geauga County Commissioner and 9 years as Munson Trustee.

As a Munson Township Trustee, Mary was instrumental in paving all the roads, built a computer infrastructure; designed the first township website in Geauga County; bought two township park sites along with a new cemetery; and supported and signed documents with the Fire Department that enabled Munson to have a split 6/3 ISO rating that lowered fire insurance across the township.  The first township land-use plan was put in place during Mary’s tenure.  Working on the Geauga County planning commission, helped to keep Munson Township zoning intact resulted in the rural community that Munson residents wanted.

The greatest challenge facing the Munson today is the loss of the local government funds and the elimination of the estate taxes in Ohio  The loss of these funds has put a severe hardship on the townships that have relied on them to operate the township.  Residents have been hit hard with taxes that continue to rise because of the need for new levies.

Therefore Mary Samide’s  goals as Munson Trustee are:

Make decisions in an expedient manner without tabling issues constantly.   Secondly, zero base the township budge each year with Trustess playing a major role in deciding the allocation of money making leaner and wiser choices.  A contingency fund should be available for costs exceeding expectations.  Third, a road maintenance schedule should be in pace that is realistic and doable, and finally, a return to the split 3/6

ISO rating Munson residents had for so many years which lowered their fire nsurance.  Additional Monies should be researched that are available through district 7 or the MPO NOACA for roads.

Mary Samide clearly is the candidate of choice.
